Below is a listing of commonly asked questions and basic troubleshooting steps for tablet press machines.
Excess material in frame spilling over scraper into die.
- Lower pin grid feeder gate or reduce speed of paddle wheel feeder.
- Check for bent feed frame.
- Re-level feed frame.
- Lower feed chute to allow material to flow more slowly.
Insufficient material being fed to dies.
- Raise feed chute to allow material to flow more liberally.
- Remove any large granules or broken tablets from feed frame which may be impeding material flow.
- Raise pin grid feeder gate or increase speed of paddle wheel feeder.
- Clean punches and sockets more frequently.
- Check for material build up around punch tips.
- Keep punches in complete sets with similar overall lengths.
- Rework sets of punches together.
- Redress scraper. Place new edge on scraper.
- Replace scraper.
